Our Cardiff Tuesday class has been learning the intricacies of Quarries’ Jig recently. This last Tuesday, 8th April 2025, we had a smaller group dance the Jig first to remind some of our beginners how the movements of this dance work. Teacher Alison Jackson keeps us on track.

Scottish country dancing is not about getting it right all the time. It’s about knowing what to do when you get it wrong and then trying to retrieve it. We have a lot of fun at Tuesday class, making mistakes is part of the process, even advanced dancers make them. We had the rest of the class join in the second time around. On Tuesday we had one entirely new dancer who made their way through Quarries’ Jig and the rest of class spectacularly, as well as various other relatively new dancers. Everyone did really well making their way through this complicated dance.

We welcome any level of dancer, especially beginners! If you have any interest in joining the Tuesday class, please contact Allison here: jacksonaj@talktalk.net
