On Saturday 7 February a group of eight dancers from the Cardiff area had another sortie into the care home world, dancing a selection of well-known dances with stirring tunes for residents of Brynmawr Care Village. We danced in two venues on the site. As usual, we had a good reception (we have danced there about five or six times over the past few years). We were particularly delighted by some memorable moments: a) foot-waggling in time to the music by a resident who otherwise appeared to be sound asleep; b) another resident who sang along beautifully to The Lea Rig, and who formed the centrepiece of our final circle in Mairi's Wedding; and c) the three staff members who were persuaded to dance The Loch Ness Monster with us.

Afterwards the organiser commented: I feel certain that the gently uplifting experience will last long beyond the time spent on the Care Village Site.

Thank you too for your kind consideration of our residents who were open to the beautiful lilting music and felt embraced by the dancers.
